After the defeat against England, South Africa was expected to come hard against Australia. Skipper of the home team Quinton de Kock was found regretting the loss as he wanted his team to fly high against the Aussies. His own form wasn’t great as the wicket-keeper batsman mustered only 77 runs across 3 games, including a half-century. Nevertheless, he has now set his sights on the ODI series and aims to record an elite outing for the national team.
Reflecting on the forthcoming three-match ODI series, the 27-year old said that it is imperative for his unit to put their best game forward to flatten a side like Australia. It is important to note that South Africa’s last ODI series resulted in a draw. However, it remains to be seen how they plan to counter the Australian challenge.
