Not playing International cricket at home for a decade is something every Pakistani cricketer regrets. Hence, many players made their debuts years ago, but their wish to witness the taste of playing competitive cricket in front of their own people waited a lot before getting fulfilled.
While the country has achieved fruitful results in restoring the charm of the abandoned stadiums via Pakistan Super League (PSL), a full resumption of cricket is yet to be witnessed. Interestingly, Pakistan has still managed to do well in the International cricket and this notion was recently brought to light by the former England cricketer Mark Butcher.
The 47-year old, who is currently in Pakistan for the highly admired Pakistan Super League (PSL), landed accolades on the Pakistani talent. Highlighting the performance of the boys in green in the International cricket, Butcher said that Pakistan maintaining their competitiveness on the top level despite not playing cricket at home serves as a testament to the quality they hold among their ranks. It was pleasing to see a foreigner admiring the strength of the Pakistani talent.
