Amad Butt was at the receiving end of two massive strikes in the final over of the enthralling contest between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators. The canny all-rounder’s slower ones were wonderfully picked by opposition batter Ben Cutting, who slammed the timely blows to drive his team to victory.
Amad was given the task of defending 11 runs in the last over but became predictable in his penchant for employing the slower ball from his bowling arsenal. Cutting stood tall and deposited back-to-back maximums in the high-pressure situation to dismantle Amad’s hopes of ending as the hero for his side.
The right-arm pacer was the hero of United’s impressive win over Multan Sultans when he picked up four wickets at the Gaddafi Stadium. Amad also grabbed the headlines last year when he reigned supreme against India in the Emerging Teams Asia Cup.
