Islamabad United skipper Shadab Khan has looked a much more mature candidate with the bat ever since he has been entrusted with leadership duties. He was the chief architect in Islamabad’s win in a nail-biter against Lahore Qalandars and once again conjured a masterful knock in the clash versus Quetta Gladiators.
His decision to promote himself up the batting order has reaped instant rewards as he has managed to rack up solid contributions and elevate his side’s scoring rate. Shadab rode on his luck with the help of a dropped catch in the field from Shane Watson in the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium as he slammed a courageous 25-ball 39.
His innings was embellished by three fours and two sixes with the young all-rounder often taking the aerial route to stamp his side’s authority. Shadab’s marvelous batting effort was not backed up by his bowling performance as Islamabad slipped to their second defeat in the tournament.
