Multan Sultans stormed to their second consecutive victory at home by an emphatic margin by cruising to a dominant win over Karachi Kings by 52 runs. Multan’s commandeering win was set up by half-centuries from Moeen Ali and Shan Masood.
The left-handed batting duo were the chief architects of Multan’s strong performance as they combined for a 71-run partnership for the second wicket. Moeen’s dismissal was followed by a middle-order collapse of sorts by Shan held one end brilliantly and accumulated 61 off 42 deliveries.
In reply, Karachi Kings’ chase was plagued by wickets at regular intervals as no batsman could surpass Alex Hales’ tally of 29 runs. The main wreckage was caused by the leg-spin duo of Shahid Afridi and Imran Tahir, with both the senior slow bowlers sharing five wickets between them.
