Multan Sultans middle-order batsman Moeen Ali was at his belligerent best in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) clash against Karachi Kings. Having been chosen to open the innings for the second time in a row for the Sultans, Moeen got his team off to a rollicking start in front of the home crowd.
His pyrotechnics with the bat were interrupted by leading edges but all of the chances offered from the Englishman were fluffed by the sloppy Karachi Kings’ fielders. Moeen’s initial reluctance paved the way for majestic strokes as fluency replaced his mistimed shots.
Moeen smashed four boundaries and four sixes as his immense talent was on full display in Multan. He finished with a solid contribution of 65 from 42 deliveries and even chipped in with a wicket to hammer the opposition to smithereens.
