Karachi Kings left-arm spinner Umer Khan finally got a chance to don the franchise jersey in the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Umer was one of the leading wicket-takers in the previous edition of the glitzy T20 league but Karachi refused to add him into the playing XI in their first two games in PSL 2020.
Despite all the hype surrounding his inclusion in the side for the clash against Multan Sultans, Umer was not given an over throughout the home side’s innings. This decision to avoid entrusting him with the ball has grabbed a lot of backlash from critics.
Multan blasted their way towards an imposing total of 186/6 and it seems Umer’s bowling services were dearly missed. Karachi skipper Imad Wasim was even asked about this controversial tactic in the post-match presentation ceremony and he replied with the fact that wind hampered the youngster’s bowling arc, which forced him to not give him bowling.
