South Africa’s legendary pacer Dale Steyn has arrived in Islamabad to join Islamabad United in the ongoing season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). This will be Steyn’s maiden stint in the PSL as he makes his way into the franchise following the completion of the T20I series at home against Australia.
The 36-year-old’s involvement in the T20I assignments rendered him unavailable for Islamabad in their first four matches. Steyn is expected to participate in United’s remaining matches of the tournament provided he remains injury-free.
The Shadab Khan-led Islamabad side have been found to lacking experience in the pace bowling department. With the likes of Rumman Raees, Musa Khan and Faheem Ashraf making up the complexion of the pace bowling resources, Steyn’s inclusion gives them a lot more depth.
