With competitive cricket returning to Multan after a decade or so, things were expected to get spicy. However, the response of the city of saints exceeded expectations as they produced massive turnouts to back their team Multan Sultans. Not only this, the fans were extremely welcoming even when players travelled or moved out of the hotel.
All this made the co-owner Ali Tareen fall in love with the generosity of the city. Sharing a video of his team’s travel, he revealed that Multan always met with a strong gathering of fans who showered heaps of love on their team. The team also took full advantage of the occasion to record an iconic campaign in Multan.
Playing Peshawar, Karachi and Quetta, the green jersey defeated all the teams to take their tally to 8 points on the points table. With such a laudable show, Multan is in touching distance of booking a play-offs berth for the first time in the history of the 20-over competition. However, it remains to be seen how Sultans operate in their second leg of the PSL 2020.
