After consecutive losses against Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans, Karachi Kings have managed to turn the tables by defeating Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi in the fifth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). As a result, the franchise has pocketed 4 valuable points in a space of 48 hours.
In the recent encounter against Peshawar, Karachi looked on top right from the start. After removing dangerous Tom Banton and Haider Ali in the first over, experienced pacer Mohammad Amir claimed key wickets of Lewis Gregory and Carlos Brathwaite in the death overs to lead the bowling department. He was supported well by Chris Jordan and Amir Yamin. As a result, Peshawar managed to get a modest total of 151 runs.
While the yellow team got the early wicket of Sharjeel Khan, Babar Azam and Alex Hales were found in prime form as the duo shared a 101-run stand to install Karachi in the driving seat. With this win, Karachi has secured the third position on the points table, sitting only behind Multan and Quetta.
