For the second game in a row, Alex Hales spearheaded Karachi Kings’ batting charge to ensure a rather comfortable win for his team. Finally settling into his groove, Hales seems to have rediscovered his batting mojo and truly punished the Peshawar Zalmi bowling attack in the clash in Rawalpindi.
Hales began briskly following the early loss of Sharjeel Khan and completely captured the momentum in Kings’ chase of the modest 152-run target. He launched expansive drives and got behind the line of the deliveries thanks to his foolproof technique.
He deposited two huge maximums and six boundaries during his blazing 27-ball 49, helping Karachi consolidate their strong position in the match. Hales was ultimately bamboozled by a googly from Yasir Shah and fell just one short of a brilliant half-century.
