Peshawar Zalmi were reeling at 10/3 by the fourth over in their Pakistan Super League (PSL) clash against Karachi Kings. In danger of being shot out for a pitiable total, Zalmi were nevertheless rescued owing to a shining knock from veteran Shoaib Malik.
Having entered this game at the back of a series of failures in the ongoing tournament, Malik stabilized Zalmi’s sinking ship helping them crawl to a respectable total at the end of their 20 overs. He struck a fantastic 68 off 55 deliveries, navigating his side superbly through the crises-laden scenario.
Malik constructed useful partnerships with Liam Livingstone and Lewis Gregory along the way in his splendid innings. However, the 38-year-old’s stunning effort did not prove to be enough to curb Karachi Kings’ successful chase.
