It was the night of the Australian wicket-keeper batsman Ben Dunk who smashed his 16th T20 half-century in front of a crazy crowd. He came to the crease when Gladiators disconnected the opening pair of Lahore by dismissing Fakhar Zaman. After that, Chris Lynn and Mohammad Hafeez joined him in the dug out in the next 3 overs to leave Lahore reeling at 50-3.
However, the elegant lefty absorbed all the pressure and formed an iconic 155-run partnership with Samit Patel. While the Englishmen was found in great form, no one was able to match the prowess of Dunk. Scoring 93 runs consuming only 43 balls, the 32-year old smashed 3 fours and 10 sixes. With this batting show, he became the batsman to hit most sixes in an individual innings of the history of the 20-over tournament. Hence, it was natural to see the agile cricketer flying away with the player of the match award.
