Pakistan cricket’s history is filled with controversies running the team’s environment. One such display came under the captaincy tenure of Younis Khan after which he was eventually removed from the leadership framework.
Recently, former Pakistan skipper Mohammad Yousuf opened up about the issue as he blamed the current head coach Misbah-ul-Haq for leading an opposition group against Younis Khan. He added that Younis being a strict skipper annoyed many as he used to hold everyone responsible for their failures, but cleared that the group never wanted to see the exit of Younis. Instead, all they yearned for is a soft attitude.
Yousuf also revealed that Kamran Akmal and Shahid Afridi also talked to him while stating their concerns about Younis’ aggressive behavior. However, he cleared that he held no grudge against the 45-year old. Instead, the iconic figure added that Younis was right to adopt a strict behavior. Highlighting the friendly bond he shared with the most successful Test batsman of Pakistan, the elegant righty indicated that he regrets sitting in such an environment which worked against Younis.
