Boundaries glowed during the Pakistan Super League match between Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators at the Gadaffi Stadium on Tuesday night as the home team clinched their maiden win of the tournament. Batting first, Lahore put up a massive total of 209 on the scoreboard courtesy swashbuckling knocks from Ben Dunk and Samit Patel.
In reply, the pressure of the scoreboard was too much for Quetta to handle. Gladiators lost their top-order batting line early in the piece. The Australian all-rounder Ben Cutting gave Quetta some hope at the end with his blistering power-striking.
Cutting scored 53 off just 27 balls, his knock included 3 boundaries and 5 maximums. He provided Quetta with the impetus at the end but it was too late for the Gladiators. Sarfraz-XI fell short of 37 runs and registered their 3rd defeat of the tournament.
