Ian Bishop in awe of Javeria Khan's professionalism

Former West Indies cricketer and renowned commentator Ian Bishop has heaped praise on Pakistan women’s veteran opener Javeria Khan on Twitter. Javeria has garnered a lot of attention for her humble and insightful comments in post-match presentations during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

The 31-year-old stood in as the skipper of the Pakistan side in their final two group stage games following an unfortunate injury to regular captain Bismah Maroof. Moreover, she was the top performer for her team, conjuring a match-winning innings in Pakistan’s victory over West Indies.

Taking note of Javeria’s cool-headedness and sharp understanding of the game, Bishop labelled the inspirational player as a ‘stateswoman’. Bishop even reckoned Javeria could have a future as an analyst post-retirement.
