It would not be wrong to say that Peshawar’s start in the fifth season of the highly admired Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been far from ideal. Playing 6 contests, the yellow jersey has only won 2 of them while losing 3 contests. The game against Islamabad United was spoiled by rain. As a result, Zalmi only has 5 points from 6 games.
With this, people are concerned about the progress of the former champions as they now have 4 difficult games left against Quetta, Islamabad, Lahore and Multan. However, Hashim Amla, the batting mentor of Peshawar, is unfazed about the current situation as he showed confidence in team’s ability and skillset to counter tough situations.
The former South African skipper is of the view that his unit has enough depth in all the three departments of the game to make it to the final four stage of the 6-team event. Not only that, the 36-year old added that he believes that Peshawar can go all the way to win the 20-over tournament.
