After silencing the might of Quetta Gladiators in the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Lahore Qalandars failed to keep the winning momentum against Islamabad. A one-side affair saw United bossing Qalandars, defeating them by 71 runs. As a result, Lahore’s play-off chances diminished significantly as they were able to win only of their first five games.
Skipper of Lahore, Sohail Akhtar rued the loss against Islamabad and blamed the lack of partnerships for their downfall. He said that the loss of wickets at regular intervals never allowed Lahore to take off. The hard-hitting batsman also added that the rain allowed the ball to spin and grip a bit which created trouble for Lahore.
However, the 34-year old promised to come back hard in the forthcoming contest. Revealing that Lahore’s camp hasn’t lost any hope, Sohail is confident to fix all the issues. Qalandars will now be seen in action on March 7 against Quetta Gladiators as they aim to open their second leg of the 20-over competition with a victory.
