Peshawar Zalmi has returned to the winning track after recording an impressive victory against a quality side like Quetta Gladiators. In a rain-curtailed game, Quetta won the toss and elected to bowl first. The decision was alright, but Quetta failed to make an impact with the ball as the yellow team mustered 170 runs in the allotted 15 overs.
Shoaib Malik recorded an elite outing whilst smashing 54 runs off 27 balls, scoring 8 fours and a six. For the purple force, Mohammad Hasnain claimed 4 wickets. In return, Quetta meant business right from the start. However, the defending champions kept losing wickets after regular intervals which dented their chase. Jason Roy top scored with bat by accumulating 45 runs, but no one really stood with him to aid Quetta’s chase.
Skipper Wahab Riaz fired to claim 3 important wickets of Quetta, thus helping Zalmi in registering a 30-run victory. With this win, Peshawar claimed the third position on the points table and pushed Quetta out of the top 4 teams.
