Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly has clarified the fact that the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will go forth as scheduled despite the fears surrounding the spread of coronavirus.
The number of confirmed cases suffering from this fatal ailment has risen in the last few days in India. This alarming situation has caused the board to issue imperative precautionary guidelines to all the franchises and the tournament organizers for the IPL.
"It's on…and BCCI will take all protection against the spread of this disease,” Ganguly was quoted as saying by a major cricket publication. The threat of coronavirus has already impacted Nepal’s Everest Premier League, resulting in its postponement.
