Peshawar has pocketed a crucial victory against Quetta Gladiators to augment their chances of qualifying for the play-offs of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020. In a run-feast encounter, the yellow team subdued the purple force by 30 runs to give Quetta their third consecutive loss in the ongoing edition of the 20-over tournament.
In a perfect game, opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq failed to fire as he mustered only 7 runs. Like always, questions were raised about the lefty despite him playing his first game of this year’s PSL. However, the newly installed skipper Wahab Riaz didn’t shy away from backing his opening batsman.
Reminding everyone about the last season exploits of Imam where he was the second-highest run-getter for Peshawar, Wahab rated Imam as one of the best players who represented Peshawar. Moreover, he backed the young rookie to come back strongly in the forthcoming fixtures of his team.
