Andre Russell has capped off a stunning comeback to the international arena with a couple of blazing knocks during the T20I series against Sri Lanka. The Caribbean all-rounder was out of action in the international circuit following his last appearance in the World Cup last year.
Russell unleashed brutal hitting in the Pallekele encounter, nailing powerful strokes with perfection and helping West Indies cruise to the modest target at a canter. Russell blasted six maximums in just 14 deliveries leaving the home side shell-shocked.
The 31-year-old’s monstrous striking earned him the player of the match and player of the series award. In the preceding match, he was in similar crisp touch as he hit 34 off 15 balls, thwacking four sixes.
