The stature of New Zealand’s wicket-keeper batsman Luke Ronchi continues to grow in the highly admired Pakistan Super League (PSL). Recently, he nailed the recorded of fastest batsman to muster 1000 runs in the 20-over tournament as Ronchi used only 30 innings to do so. Therefore, he defeated Babar Azam and Shane Watson who both did it in 33 innings.
He did so in Islamabad United’s fixture against Peshawar Zalmi, which was played in Rawalpindi. Unfortunately, the aggressive batsman failed to fire with bat as he was foxed by Rahat Ali. However, he did enough to claim the prestigious batting record of PSL.
In the 30 innings of the 6-team competition, the 38-year old has scored a total of 1002 runs. Averaging in excess of 37, he accumulated these runs at 165.89, which speaks a lot about the quality he carries. Even in PSL 2020, Ronchi is going strong and is looking forward to help Islamabad qualify for the play-offs of PSL 2020.
