It seems that Lahore Qalandars have a knack of saving their special performances for Quetta Gladiators. After tormenting them few days ago, Lahore was once again found registering an elite show against the defending champions of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020
Winning the toss, Lahore invited Quetta to bat first on a wicket which spun massively. Samit Patel took full advantage of the pitch as he dismantled 4 wickets in no time. Mohammad Hafeez and Farzan Raja also chipped in well as Quetta kept crumbling under pressure. The tail aided the purple force in reaching 98 runs, but it was never going to be enough.
Lahore looked in trouble when they lost 2 quick wickets. However, calm heads of Ben Dunk and Mohammad Hafeez allowed them to get over the line inside 12 overs, doing a world of good to their net run-rate.
Twitter was found in disbelief as no one expected Lahore to come this hard against Quetta after getting silenced by the prowess of Islamabad. As a result, the social media was filled with congratulatory messages for the green team. They also urged the Qalandars unit to be consistent to have a crack at the play-offs of the 20-over competition.
