Peshawar Zalmi edged Islamabad United in a rain-shortened affair in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) clash in Rawalpindi. While the result turned out in their favour, Zalmi were observed to be putting in a shoddy performance in the field during Islamabad’s innings.
Peshawar spilled several chances in the chilly conditions, conceding overthrows on multiple occasions and even dropping a few catches resulting in a competitive total being posted by the home side. The chief antagonist of the second-rate fielding was veteran Shoaib Malik, who had a torrid time in the field.
Malik dropped two catches in the space of five deliveries as his sloppy show did little to help Zalmi. He first shelled a chance offered from the bat of Colin Munro and then dropped another when top-scorer Shadab Khan miscued a skier.
