Lahore has continued their progress at the points table as the green team produced another magical display to defeat their arch-rivals Karachi Kings in Lahore. Batting first, Karachi was found hammering the Qalandars to muster a total of 187 runs. While Lahore looked far from chasing the target, the innings of Ben Dunk changed the scenario to give Lahore an 8-wicket win.
It was the night of the Australian wicket-keeper batsman who smashed his 17th T20 half-century in front of a crazy crowd. He came to the crease when Qalandars were struggling at 50-2 and Karachi was clearly in the driving seat.
However, the elegant lefty absorbed all the pressure and formed an iconic 140-run partnership with skipper Sohail Akhtar. While the right-hander finally fired for Lahore, no one was able to match the prowess of Dunk.
Scoring 99 unbeaten runs consuming only 40 balls, the 32-year old smashed 3 fours and 12 sixes. With this batting show, he became the batsman to hit most sixes in the ongoing season of the 20-over tournament. Hence, it was natural to see the agile cricketer flying away with the player of the match award.
