Shivnarine Chanderpaul reflects on best batsman debate

With the ongoing cricket period being blessed with a plethora of sensational batters, it is only natural to see a debate on the best batsman of the world. The likes of Steve Smith, Virat Kohli, Babar Azam, Kane Williamson and Joe Root are always found garnering massive admiration.

Recently, former West Indian legend Shivnarine Chanderpaul joined this debate while calling the Indian skipper the best of the lot. He believes that Kohli has worked on every single aspect of his game which makes him such a successful cricketer. Moreover, Chanderpaul lauded Kohli’s ability to stay at the top for a long period.

“Without a doubt, it is Virat Kohli. He has worked extremely hard on his fitness, skills and all the other aspects of the game. You can see that he is really focused to do well all the time. It’s never easy to stay at the top of your game for so long,” the 45-year old who is currently in India for the Road Safety World Series.
