Salman Butt is the notable exclusion in the Central Punjab squad announced for the upcoming Pakistan Cup. The Babar Azam-led team boasts the inclusion of the Akmal brothers and a nice blend of youth and experience but Butt, part of the team in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, is missing from the lineup.
Disheartened with his omission, the former Pakistan skipper took to Twitter to voice his discontent. Butt posed questions over the Central Punjab management, asking them to check the final list of players again.
Butt is currently engaged with the Lahore Qalandars in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). He gotten only one game so far in the competition with concerns rising over his ability to excel in the shorter formats of the game.
Butt has been a prolific scorer in first-class cricket ever since his return from the spot-fixing ban. Despite the heaps of runs under his belt, he has been unable to break into the national side yet.
