Imam-ul-Haq is one of those Pakistani cricketers who have failed to garner admiration from fans despite being one of the most consistent performers. It is so because the widespread belief is that the lefty’s selection is fueled by nepotism and he doesn’t deserve a place in the national team. Not only that, even his selection in the Peshawar’s team wasn’t celebrated by majority.
Recently, Imam was backed by his Peshawar Zalmi’s teammate Kamran Akmal. The wicket-keeper batsman is of the view that Imam has been treated unfairly. He added that Imam’s strong response with the bat highlights his strong mentality which would aid him in future. Moreover, Kamran sees leadership potential in Imam.
“I feel people are very unfair with Imam. He contains a lot of talent with which he performed consistently and established himself in the national side. He keeps replying with the bat which is one of the reasons of him being a regular member of the national side,” said by 38-year old as he dissected the curious case of Imam-ul-Haq.
