Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan rolled back the years in a stunning exhibition of elegant batting in the encounter between India Legends and Sri Lanka Legends as part of the Road Safety World Series in Mumbai.
Although Irfan was known for his supreme swing bowling days during his cricketing career, he turned up the heat with his stellar batting against an attack comprising the likes of Rangana Herath and Chaminda Vaas. Irfan struck three glorious maximums in his match-winning contribution of 57 off 31 deliveries, managing to lead the Sachin Tendulkar-captained side to victory.
Irfan’s ravishing shots caught the eye of several people on Twitter, including former Pakistan batsman Faisal Iqbal. The Karachi-born cricketer, who has played against Irfan during his international stint, spoke in admiration of his left-handed counterpart as the latter reciprocated the kind remarks.
