Sharjeel Khan finally rediscovered his mojo with the bat following a series of failures in the ongoing edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The bulky left-handed opener had failed to cross the 20-run mark even once up until his blistering knock against Lahore Qalandars.
Sharjeel combined with star batter Babar Azam to complete a 10-wicket rout of the hapless Qalandars at the National Stadium, Karachi. Bringing his full range of aggressive shots to the fore, Sharjeel frequently deposited the ball outside the boundary rope in his captivating innings.
He showed signs of scratchiness at the start of his innings before settling into his groove and unleashing carnage that blinded the Qalandars bowling attack. Having returned to the competitive arena following a ban due to spot-fixing, Sharjeel’s brilliant knock makes a strong case of selection in the national side given Fakhar Zaman’s mediocre showings at the highest level.
