Lahore Qalandars have managed to break the final-four hoodoo as they defeated the table toppers Multan Sultans by 9 wickets to register their 5th victory of the fifth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Batting first, Multan looked in trouble till the 13th over when they were reduced to 91-5. However, it was the batting heroics of power hitter Khushdil Shah which revived their innings and helped them get to a competitive total of 186 runs. From Lahore, Shaheen Shah proved his worth yet again as he conceded only 23 runs while picking up 2 key wickets.
In response, Lahore looked on a mission right from the word go. Both the openers looked in prime as they smashed a weakened team of Multan to chase another total in excess of 180 runs. Fakhar got out after scoring a half-century, but it was the day of blockbuster batsman Chris Lynn who smashed an unbelievable century to take his team into the knock-out stage of the competition. It was a pity to see Lahori crowd not being able to see a special show from their unit.
