Indian cricketer turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar responds to his removal from the BCCI’s commentary panel. The Indian commentator was dropped from the BCCI’s commentary team earlier this week and the reports suggest that he won’t be part of Indian Premier League as well which is expected to start on 15th April after the delay.
“I have always considered commentary as a great privilege, but never an entitlement. It is up to my employers whether they choose to have me or not and I will always respect that. Maybe BCCI has not been happy with my performance of late. I accept that as a professional”, Manjrekar tweeted.
2019 was a controversial year for Sanjay as a commentator. He faced a lot of criticism after he called Ravindra Jadeja as a “bits and pieces cricketers”. Moreover, Manjrekar also got involved into a heated argument with a fellow commentator Harsha Bhogle. However, it is not clear whether BCCI has suspended him because of these reasons or not.
