The trend of the cricketing activities getting suspended or postponed continued for another day. This time, it was the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) which has been postponed due to the outbreak of deadly Corona Virus.
Earlier, the tournament was dented as foreign stars started leaving the competition. To name the few, the likes of Alex Hales, Chris Lynn, Carlos Brathwaite, Rilee Rossouw and James Vince leaving the arena reduced the charm of the 6-team event. Moreover, the matches being played in empty stadiums exacerbated the situation.
With all this, the league stage was completed as PSL 2020 saw Multan, Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar emerging as the four semi-finalists. However, things have started to move in a dangerous position as Pakistan’s bar on such cases has taken a surge.
Therefore, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has gone for the safety first approach as the government is also taking strict actions to counter this muddle. As the league has been postponed, further details will be followed in due course.
