Pakistan’s belligerent batsman Sharjeel Khan has shown glimpses of brilliance in the ongoing edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). However, he has largely been inconsistent which is evident from the fact that the elegant lefty has mustered only 199 runs in 10 innings while averaging a shade under 25, which also includes an unbeaten innings of 74 runs.
Recently, former Pakistan cricketer and a keen observer, Ramiz Raja came forward to share his views on the progress of Sharjeel Khan. The cricketer turned commentator believes that the case of the hard-hitting batsman needs to be read clearly as his fitness is not as per the International standards.
The 57-year old didn’t deny the prowess of Sharjeel, but added that his inability to run hard could make him a liability. Moreover, Ramiz said that the 30-year old could have worked a lot on his fitness after being picked in the PSL. It remains to be seen if he gets the attention of the selectors to get back to the national team.
