The outbreak of the deadly Corona Virus has even managed to hit the cricketing activities. Almost all the cricket related action has been suspended as authorities are extremely concerned about the health of everyone.
Amid all this, scheduling the forthcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has given the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) a major headache. For this reason, the governing body of the Indian cricket is currently weighing the possible options to hold this year’s edition of India’s highly valued T20 tournament.
Therefore, a shortened version of the 20-over tournament has been proposed where each team would play the other team only once, scrapping the currently standing home and away games mechanism. Another discussed option is to split the teams into two groups. However, this idea might see the absence of some major anticipated clashes. It all remains to be seen how BCCI counters the prevailing situation.
