Just two hours before the start of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) semi-finals, the competition was postponed indefinitely by the authorities in the wake of rising concerns over the spread of the COVID-19. This significant decision was taken by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as a precaution for the players, who were set to feature in the upcoming clashes.
Reacting to the last-minute delay of the PSL knockout games, former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi reacted to the news by saying that safety of the people is the prime objective, especially for the players returning to their homes.
Moreover, the Multan Sultans all-rounder stated that it would perhaps be the right thing to crown the Multan-based franchise the champions of season five since they finished the league stage at the top of the six-team table. Multan amassed a total of 14 points in 10 games in the round-robin phase of the tournament.
