The resurgence of the Indian pace battery is one of the most fascinating stories of the cricketing world. As a result, the days are gone when the blue team struggled with a below par pace department. Currently, India possesses an efficient pace unit which gives them edge in all the three formats of the game.
Recently, former Pakistan paceman Waqar Younis became a part of this debate and lauded the Indian Test pace trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma for India’s rise in Test cricket. The ex-skipper added that all these pacers have sturdy pace and they use it effectively both with the new and old ball, which makes them a strong challenge for any batting line-up.
“Without a doubt, India has worked really hard on their pace bowling and now you see them regularly producing bowlers who bowl in the 140 plus range. Things have changed for them. Bumrah, Shami and Ishant have taken India to the top and things are similar in the other formats,” the 48-year old said.
