Taijul aims becoming a regular in ODIs

Throughout the course of the cricketing history, Bangladesh remained blessed with magnificent left-arm spinners. One of them is Taijul Islam who continues to make progress in the International cricket.

Playing 29 Tests, the spin wizard has claimed 7 five-wicket hauls to muster 114 wickets. However, he was able to feature in only 11 white-ball games in a career stretched over 7 years. Therefore, the aim of the 28-year old cricketer is now to become a regular member of the ODI team.

In all honesty, his start hasn’t been bad as he has 12 victims in 9 games at an average of 28.08. Moreover, a bowling economy under 4 highlights the potential he carries. However, the ban of prolific all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has provided him a chance to shine in the limited overs cricket.

Therefore, Taijul sits ready to grab the opportunity as he revealed adding a lot of variations to his bowling to cement his place in the ODI team. After recording a strong show in the Zimbabwe series, his confidence has been boosted and he is hopeful to do even better in the forthcoming assignments of the national team.
