After only 5 years, Pakistan Super League (PSL) is counted among the most valued T20 leagues of the world. With six stunning teams getting engaged in action-packed cricket, the 20-over tournament gives tough competition to events like Big Bash League (BBL), Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and Indian Premier League (IPL).
Importantly, the restoration of competitive cricket back to the empty grounds of Pakistan has given their darling T20 tournament a different kind of flavor. For this reason, it continues to draw a lot of attention across the cricketing globe and often gets compared to PSL.
Recently, former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi reflected on the debate by saying that PSL will be standing next to IPL in the next 3 to 4 years. The iconic all-rounder who represented Pakistan in 27 Tests, 398 ODIs and 99 T20Is applauded the quality of the tournament which continues to grow in stature in every year. Moreover, he admitted that he really loves playing the Pakistani T20 carnival.
