The world is currently going through an unprecedented level of danger as all the cricketing activities have been suspended. Not only that, the outbreak of Coronavirus has caused a massive loss of human lives. According to an estimate, more than 192 countries are affected by this disease which is responsible for taking lives of approximately 21,000 people.
Like other countries, India has decided to go on a 3-week lockdown starting from March 25. This has installed a tremendous amount of pressure on the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) who were all set to stage the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Earlier, the tournament was meant to start from March 29 which was pushed to April 15 in hope of seeing the situation getting improved. Reflecting on the matter, a BCCI veteran said that it is virtually impossible to see things returning to normalcy by April 14. Therefore, sources claim that this year’s Indian T20 carnival might get cancelled. However, an official word from BCCI is awaited.
