The International Cricket Council (ICC) has postponed all qualifiers for the 2021 T20 World Cup and the 2023 World Cup due to take place before July as the coronavirus pandemic has continued to expand ceaselessly.
The tournaments which were supposed to be held in Kuwait, South Africa, Spain, Belgium, Malaysia and Finland are all affected by the decision. “The decision has been taken in conjunction with members and in line with the relevant government and public health authority advice,” the ICC said.
The ICC have stated that this year’s remaining T20 World Cup qualifiers are being “continually monitored”. Earlier, the 2020 T20 World Cup organizers claimed they would go ahead with the showpiece event as planned in October this year.
