Australian head coach Justin Langer feels that his team is prepared enough that even if the Indian Premier League is cancelled it won’t affect their combination. With top Aussie players taking part in the event, their performance would be a key factor in determining Australia’s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup later in this year.
However, Langer feels that the combination of his side is already set to a point where the potential cancellation of IPL won’t harm the team. "Before this crisis started to unravel, we were absolutely determined for our guys to play the IPL," Langer told reporters. "Because with the T20 World Cup coming up, there's no better grounding, no better practice, no better tournament for them to get ready for that."
"In terms of selection, I'm not too stressed about it ... one or two positions in our World Cup side are up for grabs. It's a very, very settled team. We played great cricket against South Africa," he added. With the cricket world surrounded by fears, Australia’s T20I fixtures before the mega-event are also in danger.
