The ongoing lockdowns across the globe are forced activities to stop the spread of Coronavirus. In such a situation, cricketers are limited to their residencies, sitting far away from the cricketing action. However, this suspension of cricketing activities has also given players a chance to get fresh when things return to normalcy.
Recently, Indian head coach Ravi Shastri became a part of this debate while urging his unit to use this time and reenergize themselves. The veteran of 80 Tests and 150 ODIs believes that apart from playing a lot of cricket, Indian players travelled extensively which exhausted them. Therefore, he feels that the break could aid them in getting charged for the resumption of cricket.
“There are certain players who played all the three formats of the game, so you can imagine the toll it has taken on them, especially being on the field, adjusting from T20s to Test match cricket and all the travel that goes with that because we travelled quite a lot,” Shastri said while talking about mental fatigue of Indian players.
