Tamim Iqbal, after being appointed as the Bangladesh’s ODI captain opened up about his plans for the side. Currently in lockdown, Iqbal has not got a chance to train in the nets, however, he is trying to maintain his fitness with home workout. The left-handed batsman is keen on winning big games for his side as the captain.
Iqbal feels it is a crucial time for Bangladesh team to build keeping an eye on the 2023 Cricket World Cup. Moreover, the left-handed batsman also added that winning against big teams will give his side a lot of confidence. Tamim also talked about his comparison with Mashrafe Mortaza, the former Bangladeshi captain by adding that he will be only focused on his own performance and not what people are saying.
Tamim said that by focusing on the current process and not the past performances, he will try to make his side a bit stronger. Bangladesh was scheduled to play an off ODI game against Pakistan in Karachi. But due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the match was rescheduled.
