Pakistan’s coaching has never been an easy task as many stints encompassed controversies. The era of last coach Mickey Arthur wasn’t entirely different as some controversies stirred up. However, those happening were nothing in comparison to what happened in past and he was able to overall manage things smoothly under his watch.
While Mickey’s record as T20I coach of the boys in green was phenomenal, it is hard to repeat the statement for 50-over cricket and Tests. Nevertheless, he aided Pakistan in winning the all-important ICC Champions Trophy 2017 event.
Recently, Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Hafeez looked back at the era of Mickey Arthur while calling him the most powerful coach he played under. The veteran of 55 Tests, 218 ODIs and 91 T20I revealed that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) facilitated him completely. Therefore, his requests were never turned down. Hafeez further added that Mickey’s comments were always preferred over the national team players.
