Pakistan’s head coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq has called for the extension of the ICC World Test Championship. The former player feels that the duration of the tournament should be extended so that each Test playing nation gets an equal opportunity in the all-important event.
Currently, the final of the event is likely to take place in June 2021 and with many cricketing series currently suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak, it is highly possible that the ICC might shift the final of the tournament.
"I just think that all teams must get equal opportunities in the championship even if matches are rescheduled," Misbah said. “Whenever cricket resumes all teams should get equal opportunity in the ICC World Test Championship to try to play in the final. The tournament can be extended beyond 2021.", he added.
ICC has not given any call on this matter so far, but the way things are shaping up it is very much possible that ICC might postpone the final of the ICC World Test Championship.
