The potential comeback of the hard-hitting opening batsman Sharjeel Khan is attracting a lot of debate. Recently, it caught the attention of the former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi who came out in support of his colleague Mohammad Hafeez after the all-rounder discouraged the return of tainted characters to the national team of Pakistan.
While expressing his views on this subject, the darling cricketer of Pakistan emphasized the need of harsher punishments for players who got involved in heinous activities like fixing. Like Hafeez, Afridi believes that the dignity and character of a player should always be counted ahead of any other talent.
Moreover, the veteran of 27 Tests, 398 ODIs and 99 T20Is is of the view that board needs to set an example to discourage other cricketers from indulging in illegal practices. It remains to be seen how Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) responds to this situation as people expect the 30-year old cricketer to make it to the T20 World Cup squad of Pakistan.
