Australia’s fast bowler Pat Cummins is still hopeful that the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League will be staged at some point. The fast bowler was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) with the highest bid for a foreign player. With the COVID-19 pandemic, IPL was postponed till 15th April.
However, it is still not sure whether the tournament will take place on the same date or not. "Everyone is still really keen for it (IPL) to go ahead, but the priority is to minimize the risk of it spreading," he quoted.
"It’s a holding pattern … the last I spoke to them, they were still really confident and hopeful it’ll be on at some stage," he said. Cummins feels that a lot of tournaments in the ongoing year will be suspended due to the viral outbreak. The fast bowler was part of the ODI series against New Zealand which was called off due to the fear of Coronavirus.
