Former Pakistan leg-spinner Danish Kaneria has appealed to his Indian counterparts Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh to help the Hindu minorities in the country in order to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Kaneria’s request comes in the wake of the duo offering their help to the Shahid Afridi Foundation amidst the global health crisis.
Harbhajan and Yuvraj both had made an appeal to their fans to make a donation to the social welfare organization set up by flamboyant all-rounder Shahid Afridi. ‘Boom Boom’ Afridi’s foundation is working in Pakistan to help the underprivileged folks in overcoming the crisis caused by the novel coronavirus.
The two Indian cricketers were met by severe backlash on social media from fans, who were angered by their support for Afridi. In response, Yuvraj was compelled to write a message reiterating his undying love for India but also his desire to stand for humanity.
